A young rider in a red shirt navigates a wooden bridge on a mountain bike, surrounded by lush green trees in a dense forest. Sunlight filters through the leaves, creating a dappled light effect on the ground. Anderson Park mountain bike trail.

Mountain Biking Anderson Park

#47 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan
#1,713 in the world

Built and maintained by MMMBA. There are 3 loops for nearly 6 miles of fun. The green, red and blue loops are all single track. Start at the Kiosk by the second parking area. Trail entrance is right across the road from it for the green loop. The red loop starts at the other lot where the emergency entrance is. Please do not block the area with the cable across it. The blue loop is on Wardell Road and is the northernmost loop
A great place to take a newbie without beating him up too badly. Lots of tabletops scattered throughout the trail. Updated kiosk map 10/19.

Getting there
From I96 near lansing Take the 98A Exit which heads South on Lansing road. Go for about 1-2 miles and you will see Old Lansing road veer off to your right. Take that down past the firestation and Blinker light bar. Wardell Rd is a dirt road just past the bar on your right. Head up Wardell Rd till you see the Kiosk.

This is where I was bitten by the mountain biking bug. Its a super fun set of trails that is pretty well maintained. If you are local, its definately worth checking out .I'm not sure I would drive over an hour for it though.

The west side of the road has some obstacles, all with ride arounds. The east side is tight in some places with roots.

Thanks to the trail builders, I was in Lansing for work and had brought my bike in case I found some time. The trail made the most of a relatively small space. Since I was riding in October, the orange leaves made me lose sight of the lines once but it was not hard to get back on track. It was not terribly difficult, but it is fun. The log overs are good and every obstacle has a bypass for beginners. Nice place to introduce the newbie.

For a short beginner loop, this has potential, but could really use some TLC. Fair amount of overgrowth, and a few downed trees. The trail itself ranges from slow and windy to open and smooth. The playground of obstacles is a nice touch, but could use some expansion and upkeep. Worth an afternoon if you're close, but don't go more than an hour out of your way.

Was pretty wet still from heavy rain yesterday, green loop was ok one tree blocking path early in trail,
Red is getting pretty tight with overgrowth. Overall a good day !

I rode the Red and Blue loops. It was a fun ride with a few overgrown sections but the trail is in good shape and easy to find. I will be back for sure!

Rode here while the wife and i were touring Michigan. The trails were wide open and easy sight lines. A little damp and slick both days we rode. Technically, fit for beginner. Intermediates can push speed and find some fun too.

Fun trail close to East Lansing and Lansing. Three different loops: blue, red, and green which increase in difficulty accordingly. Fun medium technical ride. Few wood structures and some jumps that are not very big. I felt comfortable trying them and I'm a beginner. Granted I ate it on two of them so far but am still riding.

Awesome little park. Not a lot of elevation but has some obstacles and is never super busy.

Had fun riding it-wished it were longer. Saw more deer in one ride than all other rides this year combined. That was cool

Blue trail has a handful of climbs and downhills where you can pick up some speed with a couple little jumps and obstacles. The trail is fun and fairly simple but there are a two spots where large trees have fallen over the trail recently. The rest of the trail is in great shape

There are 3 trails here, all offer something a little bit different.

The Green Trail is really quick, smooth, and simple. The trail itself is tightly lined by small trees, but the woods are fairly wide open, so you can really see a lot while riding. There are a few log and rock piles, but they can be easily bypassed.

The Red trail is tight, highly vegetated, and features lots of small hills and valleys to add interest. At some points the trees force you to come to a near stop to maneuver through, but then you're flying again. It opens up near the road and has a couple of man-made features like a bridge, some log rides, and a few ramps.

The Blue trail is the most sweeping trail, having some stretches where you can really get moving. It starts off with a decent climb, and carries that speed throughout. The second half get a bit tight, but not to the extent that Red gets.

Overall, a cool trail that is nice and close to downtown Lansing and MSU's campus.

I thought this was a really good intermediate trail with some man made features thrown in to test more advanced riders. Although it took me about 30 minutes to ride it was a fun trail.

This is a great little trail that I was able to hit this last weekend. The trail has good flow and is kept up well. The man-made obstacles are a little challenging and a whole lot of fun. The only downfall is that it is a very short and quick ride.
