cross pastture to 2nd spring loaded gate look for trail markers, once you enter the taril the recomended direction is clockwise.
We should have a trail map in the parking corral in the near future, but the trail is well marked and easily followed.

Road this trail twice in the past few days. Very well laid out, not real technical, easy to follow, lots of wildlife. Highly recommended
Thank |Has potential for a great xc trail. Needs more wheels on the trail. Very out of the way. Would be a good family ride. Keep in mind there are no restrooms or amenities.
Thank |Nice trail of all old Florida. Trails a little hard to follow but easy enough to figure out. Lots of wildlife!
Thank |trail was in good shape. A little wet from recent rain. But the trail was fun to ride.
Thank |Finally made the trek over to check it out and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Not because it isn't a good trail, but because the rating on this site is so high.
Expectation aside. It is easy to find, well marked and maintained well. There is also almost zero elevation and the only wildlife I saw were spiders and birds -- cleared a few full webs with my face. There are lots of cow patties -- that statement can't be overstated.
The route I took was only 5 miles long, basically took Hagan's highway and stayed left all the way around.
Overall I'm glad I rode it, but won't be making the trek to ride it again.
Thank |Fun ride. Watch out for cow patties! We drove from Ft Myers and stayed the night before at a local KOA before hitting the trail. Would make a trip again. Well marked and lot's of wild life.
Thank |Is the trail also accessible to runners ?
Thank |Had a group out riding the trail from the Florid Trail Association yesterday. It was their second visit and they brought friends. They said is was the best maintained trail they have ever visited well marked and easy to follow. What a great compliment from an organization that has been around for years.
Thank |New trail has been added 1.25 miles. we are knocking on the door of 7 miles now. Just a heads up new loop hasn't been signed yet but is pretty easy to follow. It's not on the map yet.
Thank |WE have a trail map kiosk in the parking area now with take along maps too. there are "you are here" signs at the entrance to each trail. The trail is very easy to follow now. We are scouting and marking additional trail our goal is a 7-8 miles of fun single track. The wildlife has been unusally active lately, it;s like going to the zoo on your bike!
Thank |It's a great trail for trail running too. come check it out.
would like to thank marshall and his friend for a good job on keeping up the trail. trail is easy flowing trail with some small hills, some quick turns. marshall said in 2weeks there will be 3 more miles of trails thanks again.
Thank |It's a great place to ride. There's lots of wildlife out there tons animals to see. Good place to ride with the family. Trail is well marked and it very hard to get lost out there. You can go fast and get a good cardio workout or go slow and enjoy the wilderness.
Thank |Awesome trail! Good sections to get some pretty good speed, if your not used to riding around roots there is always a bypass around them or some of the more difficult parts, but all in all this trail is amazing. I ride at least once a week. It's never too packed and anyone I've ever met are really nice people.
Thank |The trail has been getting small amounts of rain daily which makes our fast trail even faster! The trail is in it's best shape ever we have added "you are here" signs all over the trail and the trail kiosk is up and the map is going in anyday now. Come ride Grassy Island you will be glad you did.
Thank |This is a wonderful trail that is really well marked and maintained. The upkeep is great - thanks for all the hard work on trail maintenance here. Beautiful scenery. Oak trees, lush canopy throughout. There are even some wild orange trees, and plenty of bones to discover left from decades of cows roaming the farmlands that surround this area. There is a nice flow to the trail, with a few relatively easy and fun obstacles. Not much elevation change, mostly flat. Cool little bridges, log overs through tight trees, cabbage palm roots (not excessive, just enough for fun! ) Off the beaten path, a great place to get away from the S. Florida MTB crowds and enjoy the woods.
Thank |Grassy Island is a great singletrack trail 90% covered by canopy. trail is covered with wildlife, deer, turkey, occasional cows and more. Trail has some logovers and a few sections that have cabbage roots. any place along the trail that has a technical section there is an "easy option" to bypass the technical stuff. It has a great flow some small elevation changes. It is about 4-5 miles from the center of town. A gas station is just 2.5 miles to the south on 441 for your deinks and snacks.
