Mountain Biking Jack Island Preserve
#249 of 289 mountain bike trails in Florida
This is a fairly simple loop with a trail running through the middle that leads to an observation tower, much like the one at Jonathan Dickinson Park, but not on the top of**iant hill. Trust me, you cannot get lost on this trail. With A1A to the east and the St. Lucie River to the west, you should always know where you are. The birds on this trail are phenomenal! I saw a few water birds with wingspans the length of my arms! I recommend bringing a fishing pole in your backpack. This is a great family trail. I'm shooting some video next time I go.

Coming from I-95, take the Ft. Pierce exit. The sign will say Ft. Pierce Inlet State Park, so many miles. You want to head east toward the ocean. When you get to A1A head north toward Vero Beach. Drive slowly and be on the lookout for a sign on the left that reads Jack Island Preserve. It will be only about a mile or two up the road. There are some pretty huge condo across the street and a tiny motel just to the north of the road that leads to the island.
