You don't expect to find much purpose built mountain bike trail in east Texas and you'll be surprised at what you find in Lufkin. This trail is around 6 miles of rolling, twisty singletrack. With only 100 feet of elevation in the park, you'll soon notice that it seems like one direction on the loop is all up hill, while turning around makes it seem like all downhill.
Suggestion: Ride the trail in a figure-eight, combining all the East-side of the creek, cross the 50' bridge & do the West-side loop. West side can exit to the park-entrance road, or return to the bridge. Do second-lap in reverse for diversity..
You'll find very flowy, if sometimes rooty, trail that brings a smile to your face.
All of the trail was professionally designed and the bulk of the construction done by S&S Trails. DET-TRAC and the Angelina Bike Club got the grant for the trail and provided countless hours of volunteer time to do finish work.
It a fun easy trial. Especially if your not in the beat of shape like me. Lol but I couldn't find the drop from the picture. I even rode the entire perimeter looking for it.
Thank |Not a lot of climbing or super fast descents but still a good time in east Texas, just a quick drive from Nac for a little variety.
Thank |This place you can take the kids, but still lots of fun. Nothing technical at all, just lots of nice shady trail to ride, some good flowy parts, a few burmmed turns. Mostly flat. It's very nice for what it is, and that's a park in town, on flat land. I'm glad it's there and I'll come back when I get the chance. Big parking, large vehicles shouldn't be a problem unless there's some huge soccer thing.
