Currently, none of the downhill mountain biking at Snow Summit takes place on the Snow Summit property (although that might be changing in the near future). However, there are a number of gravity-oriented trails spread throughout the nearby San Bernardino National Forest that can be accessed from the top of the lift via the gravel road network.
Some trails are easier, others are more difficult, but on the whole the singletrack is steep, loose, and rocky. If you're looking for an easier ride down, try some of the gravel roads out, or head way outside of the resort and pick up the Pine Knot trail. There are a few jumps and drops that have been built with the help of fallen trees, but if you're looking for an A-line style trail with berms and table tops, Snow Summit doesn't have it. But if you like to pin it through the gnar, come and check out the steep trails above Big Bear Lake!

Dickies is really short dirt single track trail with 2 short rock sections. The rock sections are easy to walk for intermediate riders so anyone can really take this trail. There is a really cool trail that connects Going Green to Dickies if you can find it. Otherwise, you'll need to take Coyote Road. After Dickies you need to pedal a little to get back to Going Green or head deeper into the Forest to Snow Forest Trail. Either way it's an adventure :)
Thank |Town trail is a nice easy trail that's great for beginners and families. The best way to start is on the village side of the trail at knickerbocker. The average person will do a short hike a bike climb to the trail head and it's downhill from there. The trail is a double track and I had a great time using my Burley trailer on it. There is a few optional features that my kids love. There is a descent view of the lake too. Great for family, kids, push bikes, trailers.
Thank |This is one of the best public trails in Big Bear! It's a true intermediate. Some tech sections.
Thank |Pirates starting from the 2N10 is a short climb up to the Fall Line Trail Head. It's a fun and easy single track to take children on. My 7 year old loves this trail and the 4 year old loves riding the push bike down pirates!
Thank |Fern is a short but sweet little trail. It's a great addition to complete skyline or Fall line and then head back toward snow summit.
Thank |Great DH park with loads of trails to choose from. A lot of good berms and tabletops to jump on/over. Best of all is that they have 2 separate lifts.
Thank |Really fun trail, not for beginners. Some very narrow rocky sharp turns and ledges. It's marked on the forest service maps as a blue trail but it most definitely is not. Accidentally took a beginner friend down and he spent more time off the bike or on his ass then on the bike.
Thank |Great park with several trails to choose from. One of my favorite places to ride downhill.
Thank |This is a great place to go riding if you love downhill or cross-country. You take the lifts up to the top and they have lots of downhill tracks, right now they have 2 greens, 1 blue, and three blacks. On the black trails there are features such as jumps, rock gardens, berms, pavers, small drops, and even some bridges.
Thank |Great midweek day! Low crowds - Going Green and Turtle Trail were well-maintained and fast. Skyline and Fern were clean - Love riding here!
Thank |This trails dope! There's not many better in California
Thank |For 2016 - Snow Summit has stepped-up their game, vastly improving the riding experience overall. I ride XC and Trail, so the ones that got blood flowing was:
~ Pirates(XC)
Thank |~ Fall Line(Enduro/Trail)
~ Skyline Trail(XC/Trail/Enduro)
~ Going Green(XC/Trail)
~ Cabin 89(XC/Trail)
~ Trick or Treat(XC/Trail)
~ Pineknot Trail IE01(XC/Trail)
Summit has a great variety of downhill and single track. when i got too pumped out from the downhill we jumped on some single tracks. It was a good selection to choose from.
Thank |I definitely recommend this trail!
Thank |Black Diamond. Nice trail!
Thank |Great section of trail!
