Mountain Biking Upper Loop
#214 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
Once your at the junction you have two options, left and right. if you go left you will climb thru aspens and open sage fields. untill you hit a road at that point you can take the road to MT. crested Butte trails or go back down. If you take a right, you will got about a quater mile and take a left where you will see a sign that says upper loop and jct to upper upper loop. this will bring you to the upper upper loop and whetston vista. This is also a great way to get to brush creek where there are numerous bike trails up in that area.

If you Bike from town (you should): Travel all the way down to the east side of Elk ave until the pavement road ends. Continue over the cattle guard on this privet Ranch (stay on the road Please). after about a mile you will see a sign on your left that says tonys trail and junction to Upper Loop. travel up on the single track untill you run in to the upper loop Junction

Lots of punchy techy climbs if heading from Tonys trail to Brush creek road followed by a big downhill with plenty of switchbacks.
Thank |Fun downhill from Upper upper that isn't very long and dumps you out onto Elk avenue into town. Not technical but fast and nice berms.
Thank |A fun, fast, rock littered downhill connector from Upper Loop to several roads leading to Brush Creek, Strand Hill, or Deer Creek trails. A blast!
Thank |A lot more technical than some of the signature CB trails, this is one long rock garden with a few open fields of flowers. Best ridden eastbound...and a great place to connect to Strand Hill or Deer Creek.
Thank |This trail is a very mixed bag that has everything from tons of rocks to smooth, flowing sections. It also has some exposed sections with amazing views of the valley.
Gorgeous singletrack that is easily accessible from town... I highly recommend it!

Thank |This trail is upper intermediate to easy advanced. Definitely tons of rocks everywhere. Great singletrack! If ever a one mile trail deserved a 5 star rating, this is it.
Thank |great trail to get to brush creek trails in Crested Butte Colorado. Very Rockie and some technical uphill spots. great trail which also gets you back into town!
