Mountain Biking Colonel Francis Beatty Park
#40 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
Great singletrack. Very narrow in sections. Has just about everything. The trail is 6.5 miles long. Not many climbs, but was a great trail overall. Kudos to the TTB for keeping it up. Be aware of the loose sand, and ride it more than once to learn where the jumps are located. Has the basic levels; Green, Blue, Black, and a pump trail. Like said above, not many climbs and is not very crowded. Good for beginners and for people who just want to get out there and have some fun. Narrow tracks and turns. Jumps are scattered in different places, and you gotta ride the trails a couple of times to get them down in your memory.

Follow signs from intersection of I-485 and Hwy 16 (Providence Road). It is about 3 miles from this intersection. From I-485, take Providence Road South towards Charlotte. Turn right onto McKee Rd and go to the first light.take a right onto Weddnington road. Park entrance is 1/2 mile on right.
These trails are flowy with huge wood features. There is also a nice pump track near the tennis courts. It's about 0.10 miles long.
Thank |Great little trail system. Has some flow and some mild technical sections.
Thank |New flow trails will be opening up soon. Trails are behind the tennis court.
Should be best flow trails, pump trails in the state.
Thank |Very nice trail that is well kept up. Good for joeys/ intermediate riders.
Thank |Trail had good flow and we'll marked. I did not ride the green trail. The blue trail was pretty good. It had a lot of rooted technical sections. The black trail was nice. I was able to challenge myself with thi go I have not tried before. Great use of the limited space. My only gripe Is there were so many unmarked trails branching off it got confusing at times. It was worth the hour trip up.
Thank |This trail is a blast! Lots of little kickers and a few small drops on the main trail, and the black Diamond has a few wooden structures that are super fun! Although I wouldn't necessarily rate it black Diamond. Definitely one of my favorite trails in the Charlotte area. Just watch out for joggers and walking traffic
Thank |This was A LOT of fun! Did everything but the black diamond today (first time there). Some very smooth sections and some very rooty sections too. There are a number of six-to-twelve inch drop-offs on the beginner loop that my "beginner" girlfriend wouldn't think were "beginner" so be advised!
Thank |Being this was my first ever mountain biking experience I have to say it was a blast. I don't have anything to compair the trail to since this was my first ever ride. Expect a few hikers with dogs. Spotted a few large deer. I did notice there is a paved path if you'd like to bring your younger kids for a family day. It's a little confusing of where to go in to and ride. There are a few areas where you can get a little air and get some speed. I plan on making getting some more time in here.
Thank |Definitely agree that it's a great place for intermediate riders to get lots of miles in. I don't necessarily agree with the black diamond rating for the difficult loops, but there were some tech sections that were gnarly, so I'll give them that. Great place overall! Lots of people out on the trail too, and nearly all very nice people.
Thank |Great park for intermediate riders, had lots of fun with the obstacles and opportunities to jump in many spot throughout the trails
Thank |Forts time and it's stayed on the easy/beginner trail as I'm still at that level. Very nice and well maintained. Was a little confused early
Thank |on as the signage was a bit spotty when some of the higher level trails crossed, but that was only one spot that I had that issue. Overall a nice trail and a place I would return to.
Good overall trail that loops relativity well. Difficulty is not consistent throughout on the Intermediate and Expert Trails. Several slightly annoying technical rocky uphill bits.
Thank |Very good trail. Definitely tight and rooty in sections but overall very fun. Will test some of your technical skills on the black sections but you will be rewarded with very fun wooden bridges and jumps. Not very well marked which is the only reason this is not a 5.
Thank |Cool trail for a local city track. A few roots, but nothing too major.
Thank |Good fun. I'm from out of state and had a good time. Nice single track. Great overall ride.
Thank |Awesome trail, like previously said has a little bit for everyone. Great for beginners or advanced as well (with all three green, blue, and black trails). A few roller coasters, a good amount of jumps, all that good stuff. If there was one problem it was the occasional runner to look out for. Nothing too problematic though-gotta share the trails. Great trail!
Thank |That trail has stepped up this game and added more jumps and roller coasters it's it's fun and good ride. Nothing too technical
Thank |Nice trail, with some fun features. Sandy and a little bit rooty...
Thank |Super fun trail.
Thank |Nice local trail, full loop doing the 2 black diamond sections is 6.5 miles. Fast track with some nice berms, jumps, and ladders. Thanks Trailblazers.
Thank |Watch out for runners, dog walkers, families, the only negative, multi-use trail, everyone enjoys it.
