Hit tight singletrack lines with military precision aboard Intense’s new Sniper XC and Trail bikes. Just announced today, the new Sniper full suspension 29er carbon mountain bike from Intense is available in two different platforms: 100mm for the “XC” version and 120mm for the “Trail” version.
To eliminate the twitchy XC bike feel, Intense has incorporated a relatively long front-center on the Sniper along with a short 50mm stem. They’ve also built in slack geometry, long wheelbases, and what they call “ideal” bottom bracket heights–not too short, not too tall.
Intense Sniper XC
The XC version of the Sniper features 100mm of suspension travel front and rear, a 67.5° head tube angle, 74° seat tube angle, 330mm bottom bracket height, 439mm chainstay length, and a 468mm reach in a size large. Total wheelbase length is 1179mm in a size large.
The XC model is available in four build kits with prices ranging from $4,499 up to $8,499. The $8,499 halo-level XC Factory Build is spec’ed with a Fox Factory 32 Kashima fork, Fox Factory DPS Kashima rear shock, SRAM XX1 Eagle drivetrain, Shimano XTR brakes, ENVE 525 carbon wheels mated to DT Swiss 240 Classic hubs, Maxxis 29×2.25″ Rekon Maxxspeed Folding tires, and a KS Carbon Lev Ci dropper post. Total claimed weight for the Factory Build is a scant 21.09lbs.
Intense Sniper Trail
The Trail version of the Sniper features 120mm of suspension travel front and rear, a 66.5° head tube angle, 73° seat tube angle, 338mm bottom bracket height, 439mm chainstay length, and a 468mm reach in a size large. Total wheelbase length is 1179mm in a size large.
The Trail model is available in just two build kits, priced at $4,499 and $5,599. The top-tier $5,599 Trail Pro Build is spec’ed with a Fox Factory 34 Kashima fork, Fox Factory DPS Kashima rear shock, SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain, Shimano XT brakes, a DT Swiss M1700 Spline wheelset, Maxxis 29×2.35″ Forekaster Folding tires, and a KS Carbon Lev Ci dropper post. Total claimed weight for the Factory Build is 24.6lbs.
