In one of the most unique industry launches, yesterday YT teased the release of a new Jeffsy with Christopher Walken starring in a video.
Today, the new Jeffsy hits the market. The appearance has changed entirely, and looks more akin to a shorter-travel Capra.
Like the previous version, the updated Jeffsy is available in 27.5-inch and 29-inch wheel sizes. YT markets the 650B version as more playful and agile. The 29er is said to have better roll-ability, more efficiency, and added control.
The bike sports redesigned suspension kinematics with typical characteristics like a supple top stroke, supportive mid-stroke, and good bottom-out resistance. YT calls the suspension design a V4L, or “virtual four link.”
The updated Jeffsy features adjustable geometry with a flip-chip that changes the angles by one-degree. The new 29er has 140-150mm travel (depending on the build kit) with a 66- to 67-degree head angle and a 77-degree seat angle.
The new Jeffsy 27 is a 150-160mm travel (depending on the build kit) enduro-ready bike. The head angle in the low position is 66.5-degrees and the seat angle is a bit slacker than the 29er at 76-degrees.
Both bikes get a few new touches, like the aforementioned flip-chip in the linkage, better frame protection on the downtube near the bottom bracket, improved frame bearing protection, and a water bottle cage mount on the inside of the frame developed in collaboration with Fidlock, the magnetic technology brand.
YT starts the pricing for the bike at $2,300 for an aluminum base model that includes a Fox 34 Float Rhythm fork, a SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, and a SDG Tellis dropper post.
At the high end of options, the CF Pro Race models get a carbon-fiber frame, a Fox Float Factory 36 fork and DPX2 shock, SRAM Guide RSC brakes, a carbon cockpit, and Shimano XTR drivetrain for $5,700.
