Mountain Biking Purple Trail
#137 of 223 mountain bike trails in Massachusetts
Windy, flowy singletrack trail about 1.8 miles in length, connects to a larger loop. Very few roots or rocks, so there aren't any real features, but this trail is a lot of fun if you like fast, twisty trails. While the larger Yellow Trail loop it connects to has some significant sandy patches, the Purple Trail is all soft loam and hero dirt. Best trail I've found on MV.

From sheriffsmeadow.org:
From the Triangle intersection in Edgartown, travel 0.4 miles west on the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road to roadside parking and a kiosk. From the four-way stop at the junction of the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road and Barnes road, travel east 3.7 miles on the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road to the roadside parking and kiosk.
To find the Purple Trail, look on your left about 100-150 feet past the kiosk.
Not long, but one of my favorite trails. Twisty and flowy narrow singletrack with soft hero dirt the whole way. Great trail for newer riders to try singletrack.
