Mountain Biking Pole Canyon Trails
#422 of 709 mountain bike trails in Utah
For forest service trails, the Pole Canyon system offers some pretty awesome DH. Like in all national forests, it's not hard to find rough, loose, and steep trail to get the muscles pumping. However, you can also ride jumps and drops on trails like Squaw Peak Overlook. Intermediate riders, on the other hand, will enjoy the lower portion of the canyon, which is filled with mellower, flowy routes. The best part is that all of this is located conveniently close to the Provo area.

Going north out of Utah Valley on U.S Highway 189, turn right onto Squaw Peak Road (FS 27) once you get out of the city. A small parking lot should soon appear on the left, but if you want to park a little higher up in the trail system, continue. Eventually you should see a road that splits off of a switchback (that's also paved). Take that to the Squaw Peak Overlook parking.
