Mountain Biking Ahnapee State Trail
#213 of 387 mountain bike trails in Wisconsin
If you want to push you rail trail-riding abilities to the limit, there may be no better trail in Eastern Wisconsin than the Ahnapee State Trail. To start, you'll be whisked away through miles of pretty forests, prairies, and farmland on this odyssey through the southern Door Peninsula. A great many towns will pass you by as you go; don't be afraid to take a break and check them out. It's scale is so large that there are even campgrounds available along its length for weary bikers taking multiple days to ride the trail.
For those not interested in the whole thing, many parking lots are spread throughout the route, so shorter shuttles and out and backs can easily be done.

On Wisconsin Highway 42 northbound, drive towards the outskirts of Sturgeon Bay. Once you past Park Drive, the entrance to Potawatomi State Park, at the next intersection (with County Road S), turn right. Immediately turn left onto Walnut Drive. Next, turn right onto Lansing Avenue and park at Cherry Blossom Park on the right.
