Mountain Biking East Descent North Valley
#50 of 70 mountain bike trails in Mongolia
Mostly two track and mostly moderate to easy grade. The top 1.4 miles (2.2 km) is more steep, reaching slopes of more than 20%, but from there it becomes a shallow grade. From the top of the mountain, riding W>E this is a 4.3 mile descent. It can be ridden as a one-way shuttle or looped together with the East Descent South Valley trail (see listing). The loop is 8 miles. There is some good speed to be found here, but many stretches are quite "pedally" on the downhill. The climbing is quite good. It makes for a good training climb early in the season.

You can start at the top of Lone Tree Mountain at the same starting point as the East Descent South Valley Trail. Or you can start on the east side of the military unit in Nalaikh. The unit is on the far north end of Nalaikh on the road to Terelj.
