This spur forks off of Barkeater with Poor Pony Option right after you go through a short boulder garden. For the intermediate riders, stay to the left and you'll enjoy a wide, smooth, flowy trail that allows you to skip a half mile of tough terrain (it's more of what you ride right before the fork).
For those that love rocks, fork right and get ready to huck. It's not all rocks though. Most are at the beginning tenth of a mile and once you are through them, the trail turns into a twisty singletrack with small bridges and a fun downward flow. Since the trails join back up in only 0.5 miles, it makes a great place for experienced riders to get in some tough stuff while intermediate friends, kids, or spouses can stay on smoother trails. Be aware that those who fork left will be waiting at the intersection for a bit since it's the faster of the two segments. Also, there is a fake rejoin where, for those that stay to the left, it looks like the trails merge but you'll see some logs laying across, and dividing, the two paths and a sign pointing onward.
Keep going past the logs and you'll see a clearly marked trailhead (with sign) where the person that forked right will soon emerge.
Kindergarten is an easy-to-miss gem that many riders don't know exists. If you are up for it, don't miss the Kindergarten Spur when you are riding Barkeater with Poor Pony Option!
