Mountain Biking Lone Tree Mountain Pass
#29 of 70 mountain bike trails in Mongolia
This is a 4.3 mile (6.9km) trail. It is a two track its entire length, but a lot of fun. Plus, there is a lot of singletrack alongside the two track. The track ascends 1.6 mi and 700' to the top of the pass and then descends 2.7 mi and 985' to the Tuul River. It's a fast fun ride. You can ride it as an out and back or hook up with other trails to return. This pass serves as the boundary between Bayanzurkh Uul Central and Bayanzurkh Uul East trail systems.

From the east gate of Ulaanbaatar (Bayanzurkh Tovchoo) drive 11km to the intersection/turn to Khonkhor. Stop here. Khonkhor is south, but you want to look north. You will see a two track heading north (actually NE) up and over a pass. This is the trail.
Fun trail. Fast throughout and furious in spots. Don't miss the narrow singletrack cow paths alongside the two track. These are good tracks, and they take some fun lines.
