Mountain Biking The Blue Tier
#13 of 35 mountain bike trails in Australia
The Blue Tier is the quintessential Blue Derby experience. This trail has it all - views to the coast from the start at Poimena, the quiet beauty of the sub-alpine environment, crystal clear streams, dark and brooding Myrtle Beech forests and remnants of the once thriving tin mining industry hidden beneath lichen and moss. It is a remote and wild experience so come prepared and don't expect mobile phone reception. The Blue Tier is a one-way trail, so plan a vehicle shuttle to the start at Poimena. While it is mostly descending, don't expect a white-knuckle gravity trail - the Blue Tier has plenty of ups along the way.
