Mountain Biking Frazer Mountain Road

This trail is the main route up the southern portion of Northside. It consists of very steep, gravelly doubletrack on the lower reaches of the mountain. Higher up below the tree line, it is still steep, but it becomes a dirt road with a few rocks here and there. Expect small patches of snow on higher reaches of the trail until early July. You'll surely be met by some amazing views as you slowly wind your way up the mountain. Eventually, it breaks above the tree line, where it becomes less defined and slightly overgrown. It ends far above the tree line at the summit of Frazer Mountain, a 12,163 foot peak.

From the Bull-of-the-Woods Mountain trailhead in Taos Ski Valley, continue into town on Twining Road. Then, take a left onto Phoenix Switchback Road, and follow that up to the gate for Northside. Lastly, climb up Bull-of-the-Woods Mountain Road until you reach a meadow. At the end of the meadow, Frazer Mountain Road should lie on the right beneath a switchback.
