Some areas are less overgrown than usual , slightly slippery and wet with high river water due to recent rain .
    Amazingly quiet and secluded

This ride concentrated on mostly the Payne's mill area of the Elgin trail
By its appearance it's Currently not used by hikers unfortunately despite it being the actual trail head .This section of the trail is over grown with tall weeds with numerous trees and branches across the trail. Volunteer maintenance has always been a problem as the original workers have aged and new personnel are hard to find .

Rider questions

Q: So, it's obvious to see a trail somewhere right off Paynes Mills Rd?
A: it is off of Talbot line in the village of paynes mills- little park with a barn, after 30 minutes in there you will cross Lyle road and after a few hrs you will come out at the train tressel on sunset dr in st thomas . this is a hiking trail though so expect some hike a bike and a great ride if you enjoy way off the beaten path . there's been too much rain recently it will be muddy though
