****   Add a review
#92 of 301 mountain bike trails in New York
#3,766 in the world

"The Full Sprague Experience" offers around 12 miles of Singletrack, with a short bit of Doubletrack on the XC Ski Loop. Be prepared for some tough climbs, fast descents, and about a million or so roots!

It's a long ride, but it's worth it. Don't push yourself past your comfort level, ride only to your ability, and have a good time!

This is a great track. It has easier paths, and more technical paths. Beautiful scenery, and fun lines. It is good for beginners since there are easier trails to do there as well. Lots of roots on some parts, some mud this time of the year but overall the trails were in good condition.

For the most part, this is a large, single track loop trail that skirts around the top perimeter of a shallow ravine ( less than 100 ft deep) . There aren't any cut-through or short cut connectors, so once you're in, you're pretty much committed to an 11 mi. loop, minus a few miles at the xc ski hut or snowmobile trail that you can cut out since they adjoin to the parking lots. It's a large park with a lot of parking areas and road access at the beginning/end of trailheads. No signs pointing the way to trailhead since you can access it at many points through the trees, so look for xc ski hut as a homebase- once you're out on the loop the kiosk maps are vague.
TONS OF ROOTS & the trail rides VERY close to lip of ravine most of the way, not great for beginners. Very well maintained, a few brook crossings keep it interesting & nice views. There are hikers & runners, but very courteous!

This is my favorite trail so far in Western New York. It's got a variety of different sections that cater to different types of skills; steep and technical climbs, fast and flowing descents, technical roots and rocks, etc.

The trail is always well-maintained, thanks for The Western New York Mountain Biking Association, or WNYMBA for short. During the Spring, Summer and Fall, you can usually find group rides happening Wednesday evening on Meetup.
