Mountain Biking Golden Eagle Trail
#49 of 1,004 mountain bike trails in California
The main portion of the trip to the top of the mountain is up fire road 7N23. This road continues for miles and can be used for adding distance to the ride. The Golden Eagle Trail starts on the top of the mountain on the right side about 9.6 miles from the start of the ride. If you see the Pacific Crest Trail, you went 1/2 mile too far. Golden Eagle Trail will cross the fire road a couple of times. The trail will take you all the way back to the car. You can take Golden Eagle up the mountain. There are some steep and loose sections which turn portions into a hike-a-bike. The views from the top of the mountain are great as this mountain is one of the tallest in the region. OHV is allowed on portions of the trails and fire road.

From LA. Go north on I-5 to Hwy 138 towards Palmdale. The first right is Old Ridge Route Road. Take this up the hile for about 3 miles. You will pass a range station. About 1/4 mile further down the road, you will see a yellow sign that states end of county maintenance. There is room to park on the side of the road here.
