From Los Angeles take the I-5 north about 60 miles and then exit east on CA 138. After approx 4.3 miles turn right onto Old Ridge Route Road/CRN2. Go uphill. At just under 2.5 miles you will come to an intersection where Pine Canyon Road (AKA Oakdale Cyn Rd) turns off to the left - but you will continue straight up/slightly to the right on Old Ridge Route Road/ FS 8N04. About a 1/4 mile further up the road you will pass through the remains of Sandberg. Then keep going another 1/4 mile up and look for a dirt turnout on the right-hand side of the road just before the road bends to the right.
