The North Face trail is the only trail in Grizedale Forest with a high proportion of purpose built mountain bike tracks. The remainder is on forestry roads.
The trail is rocky with some exposure. It's more like a bike trek than a bike park trail so you won't find a lot of jumps, berms, switchbacks, rollers and similar fun stuff. It's doesn't flow much but it does have it's nice moments and overall it's an enjoyable ride for an intermediate or advanced rider.
If you look at my GPS trace you'll see that you can turn off at the top of the hill and head along the ridge for a stunning Lake District view and a great picnic spot. This is the highlight of the loop so don't miss it.
The trail is easy to follow with good signage of white on red arrows.
