Mountain Biking Huckleberry Bay Loop
#21 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
Huckleberry Bay Loop basically goes all the way around Ponderosa State Park. The route is done by linking a few different trails together and is a combination of single track and 2 track. Most of this ride is fairly easy however out bear the tip of the peninsula there are some fairly steep climbs. They are short and even if you have to hike a bike up them the beauty of this area makes it worth the effort. The route can be ridden in either direction but make sure you take the short side trip up the road to the observation point overlooking the narrows of Payette Lake. The views are amazing!

Start at the entrance of Ponderosa State Park and take Miles Standish Rd to Pilgrim Cove and follow it to the end where the trail begins. The trail works it's way north to the tip of the peninsula and them turns south and back to the entrance of the park.

This trail has up hill and down hill, but overall it is just a fun trail to ride.
Thank |The singletrack ranges from mellow and moderately pleasant to short spots of steeps with an occasional root or rock. Pretty average overall. The scenery is top notch. The only thing really holding this ride back is the short duration of the interesting part. But it's well worth hitting just for those gorgeous stretches with views across the lake.
Thank |Its a fun trail. Easy for families to do. Location is nice because we camped at the state park right off the trail.
Thank |Huckleberry Bay Loop gets a 4 out of 5 in my book. The trail is fun and scenic but the best part is the views of Payette Lake. For a large portion of this route you are riding parallel to the shore line. The trail is fairly easy and upper beginner friendly with the exception of a few steep climbs. These can be walked quickly and you are on your way again.
