#11 of 61 mountain bike trails in Western Australia
The track is aligned to the Golden Pipeline Drive Trail, following part of CY O'Connor's pipeline which continues from Mundaring Weir to Kalgoorlie. There are trail heads at Mundaring Weir and Northam, and multiple access points in between. Riders can park and ride from pretty much any town along the way.
The Track passes through the communities of Mundaring, Sawyers Valley, Mount Helena, Wundowie, Bakers Hill, and Clackline. Those who want to go end-to-end can source suitable accommodation through the visitor centres.

Weir Villiage Road (opposite Hotel), Mundaring Weir, 38km (1 hour) east of Perth
I rode the Mount Helens to Northam. Good ride with only a short section on tarmac. Nothing technical so very much a cross country work out, with some easy to hit 35 kmh plus sections .
Thank |Not technical at all (except for loose gravel), but a peaceful and car-free ride.
Best avoided on hot / sunny days, as you would be baked to a crisp.
We got a lift to Northam then rode down Kep to Mundaring, then down the Heritage Trail to Midland.
There is a fair amount of climbing out of Northam, but the scenery is good. The rail trail starts from Clackline, where the gradient smooths out a bit.
In all, a good endurance work-out with enough distractions along the way to keep it fun.
