Mountain Biking Mount Rachel Trail
#252 of 403 mountain bike trails in Georgia
From Trailhead #1, you'll climb the powerlines on a steep incline before turning left onto the loop. Descend down into a wooded area where you'll curve around and up a short incline before popping out at Trailhead #2. Another steep incline puts you back on the "loop." Turn left and head down a slight decline with lots of big gravel. Take a 90 degree turn to the right and start your gradual ascent up Mt. Rachel for about 1 mile. There a few switchbacks up the climb. There's a bench about midways up to take a rest. Once atop Mt. Rachel, you'll start your very swift descent with several switchbacks for about a quarter of a mile. You'll pop out on the powerline right above Trailhead #1 where you can choose to loop again or head down the powerline.
