Mountain Biking Settlers Cabin Park

*****   Add a review
#61 of 293 mountain bike trails in Pennsylvania
#2,414 in the world

The trails at Settlers Cabin Park range from flat and fast double track, to moderately technical single track. The main trail (accessed from the trail heads at Tomahawk, Algonquin shelters as well as past the tennis courts) are flat, well groomed double track. They comprise a 5 mile out and back that is beginner friendly with minimal obstacles and climbing. The red trail (accessed from the Gilbert Love shelter) is a more technical single track that loops around the perimeter of the park. The trail features a mix of deep woods and open fields, with good climbs and a creek crossing. The red trail then continues up old Greer Rd, eventually intersecting the Purple trail at the bottom of the hill. From there, a rider can take the Purple trail loop (1.2 miles-easy) or the Yellow trail loop (1.4 miles-intermediate) or combine them both for the whole experience. Both loops connect back in with the main trail and can be ridden back to any of the four trail heads comprising a complete loop of the park

Getting there
The trails at Settlers Cabin Park can be accessed from 4 different trail heads. One at the end of the parking lot at the Gilbert Love shelter, one by the Algonquin shelter, one by the Tomahawk shelter and one past the tennis courts. All four trail heads feed into the same trail system which comprises a large loop around the park. For the best experience, it is recommended starting from the trail head at Gilbert Love and following the trail in a counter clockwise direction.
