Trail #1112: This trail provides access to a rather primitive section of the Routt National Forest. The trail begins at the site of an old gravel quarry used in building Forest Highway 16. Traversing lower slopes, it crosses open parks and aspen stands. When it meets Rough Creek at mile 1.1, you will begin to see Lodgepole Pine.
Continuing in a northwesterly direction, the trail slowly gains elevation for the next 1.8 miles (8800 feet). At this point, it begins a descent of 240 feet to its crossing of Cyclone Creek. This stream drains a large meadow which lies to the west, named Cyclone Park. From this point you will steadily gain elevation until you reach Cyclone Park trail, 9320' (2768m).
The last 2.5 miles will take you to Stensby trail 1193, just south of the Beaver Flat Tops.
No drinking water or rest facilities. Water sources along trail are limited.
Numerous livestock trails braid the trail. Use of GPS/compass/topo map strongly recommended!! source: fs.usda.gov
