#53 of 111 mountain bike trails in New Jersey
Mostly flat. Sugar sand in some spots. Root sections and lots of pine needles. Quite a few narrow ladder bridges, some long ones.

Rt. 9 to Wells Mills Rd up 4 miles on the left. From Garden State Pkwy Exit 69 Waretown to County Rd 532/Wells Mills Rd 2.2 miles on the left.
Made the mistake of starting the Penns Hill Trail from the right side of the lake! Highly recommend heading to the left of the lake and crossing over the wide bridge to begin the white blaze trail. Continue on the white blaze trail until you reach the Citta Scout Reservation sign and then choose between the green or orange blaze to head back to the parking lot. Orange trail is a fire road trail back to the parking lot for fun speed. Green trail is more technical with a very tight singletrack at times and a few more ladder bridges.
Thank |Watch for ticks all year and chiggers in the summer and fall. Aside from the bugs, nice trail, tight twisty some hills. Nice flow
Thank |If you enjoy Allaire, you will enjoy this. I went there last weekend, trail is not maintained too well but it's not that bad, still lots of fun riding. Very moderate trail. Sandy type of terrain. There was a forest fire there not too long ago, some parts are burnt dead.
Thank |The terrain just is a naturally good mountain bike trail. The trails are barely maintained and its just goes to show if someone did , place would be awesome. 80% of the place drains well but there are a few sections that can be muddy for days after a good rain. Enough elev. to make things fun. Similar to Allaire in some spots.
Thank |Must do the white trail NOT the orange. The last section of the white trail is blocked off but, if you're feeling a little courageous in your advanced skills GO FOR IT! It's about 11 miles of white trail workout with bridges to cross, medium hill climbs, a small rooty downhill section, mostly single track and great workout at a steady pace. There's also a green trail which becomes challenging also. One of my goto trails since it's close to home. Good Luck!
