Mountain Biking Navajo Rocks

****   Add a review
#16 of 709 mountain bike trails in Utah
#196 in the world

Navajo Rocks is a brand-new trail system that, as of when this description was written (May 1, 2014), is less than a week old. Presently, only phase 1 has been opened, which consists of a 9-mile loop. Another loop has already been planned for this trail system
The current loop is comprised of a great deal of connect-the-dots slickrock riding, some sandy singletrack, two short doubletrack sections, and a .3-mile pavement connection. The trail passes by and on top of unique rock formations and geological features, including what feels like acres and acres of cryptobiotic soil! Keep singletrack single, and keep these areas pristine and beautiful for all of the visitors to the desert.
Right now, this loop is quite pedally, and doesn't have any big climbs or descents. Overall it is intermediate difficulty, with one or two tricky sections to keep you on your toes. If you're coming to Moab and don't want to ride beginner trails but you also don't want to die on the gnar, Navajo Rocks is a great choice!

Rider questions

Q: While you were in Moab, did you ride the new Miners Loop in the Klondikes or the new trails in the Intrepid Trail System in Dead Horse Point State Park?
A: I did ride Miner's Loop, as well as the new Hymasa trail, but I still haven't personally made it to Dead Horse Point SP yet.... next time! If you want deets on Miner's or Hymasa, run a quick database search, and stay tuned for articles on all of these trails!
