Navajo Rocks is a brand-new trail system that, as of when this description was written (May 1, 2014), is less than a week old. Presently, only phase 1 has been opened, which consists of a 9-mile loop. Another loop has already been planned for this trail system
The current loop is comprised of a great deal of connect-the-dots slickrock riding, some sandy singletrack, two short doubletrack sections, and a .3-mile pavement connection. The trail passes by and on top of unique rock formations and geological features, including what feels like acres and acres of cryptobiotic soil! Keep singletrack single, and keep these areas pristine and beautiful for all of the visitors to the desert.
Right now, this loop is quite pedally, and doesn't have any big climbs or descents. Overall it is intermediate difficulty, with one or two tricky sections to keep you on your toes. If you're coming to Moab and don't want to ride beginner trails but you also don't want to die on the gnar, Navajo Rocks is a great choice!
