A peaceful forest scene featuring tall trees with lush green foliage. Sunlight filters through the leaves, creating dappled light on the forest floor, which is covered in ferns and fallen leaves. A winding dirt path leads through the trees, inviting exploration of the natural surroundings. Green Mountain Trails mountain bike trail.

    Fusters the not smart way:
So I had a couple days off and re-visited Green Mountain trails in Pittsfield,Vt . I decided to try something different and went up the road south of Amee farm(Tweed river drive). Now that was a lung-buster. But it deposited me in short order at the top of the Green Mountain trails, where I decided to assault Fusters as an out and back ride. It was scary epic and really stretched out both my muscles and riding skills. Cool trail, with lots to keep you on your toes. I got to try it during a stretch of hot dry weather here in Vermont, so the trails were as fast and buff as you can get. Super good.
And, as always I like to re-fuel after a couple hours grinding myself in the woods, so I recommend the Pitt-Stop for a killer sandwich and other necessities...

We were on vacation from the midwest and riding in the Waterbury, VT area. This was our favorite set of trails! It was one where you're either climbing or descending, rather than riding ups and downs. We did not ride through the river - someone told us how to get around it and cross over a bridge. From there we got on Noodles to Upper Noodles, to Luvin' It. All continuous climbing, but built well with flow. We reached the cabin at the top and had read Fusters was fun, so we took that down. That was a great flowy trail! It courses the side of the mountain and has some technical features, but nothing crazy! After getting a feel for the trails, I was curious to try out a black trail, and climbed back up to do Bubba. I was glad I did, as it was the perfect amount of skill testing for me! I only wish I had time to do the entire trail system or spend another day here. This is a gem that is a "must-ride!"

Once you cross the tweed from behind the Amee farm and initiate yourself into the GMT club by soaking your shoes and socks, you may enter.
Take Stairs to Escalator and get to Luvin it. I thought it was a real grinder, but everyone else says it's a pip. endure to the summit, and check out the cabin and views. For the descent, I must insist upon Labyrinth to Warman to Stonewall. in that order. trust me, it's epic. Mad-fun.
Don't forget to stop in Pitt for a vanilla porter at the General store. excellent ride!

Took the popular routes up; Noodles, Escalator, Luvin it. Switchbacks get tighter as you near the summit. Trails are flowy and fun, but come here in shape and be prepared for a workout. You'll be happy you came.

Great layout of trails, fun quirky atmosphere, and an amazing setting! Certainly worth getting all the way to the cabin at the summit, a very cool structure with a 360-degree view of the Green Mountains. The popular route up (Noodles) features many switchbacks which keep things interesting and allow for good speed in some sections...eliminates the "grind" aspect. Many interesting routes down and lots of places to explore...Pittsfield is a sweet little spot, and the fact that these trails are really integrated into the town itself (via the MTB scene, the "Death Race", and more) shows. Lots to love!

Rode the trails on 7/22/15 and had a blast. Trails basically start at the bottom of a small mountain and climb. Took Noodles Revenge from the Farm up and up, great climb, bermed turns, switchbacks up, Upper Noodles then to Stonewall then Warman and Green Trail. Never did find the summit cabin as a rain storm blew in. Took Fusters back down and around - great downhill trail - so much fun. Found my way back to Noodles Revenge via Escalator. Hats off to trail builders - your work is really impressive. Bottom line is as good as Kingdom Trails, more variety and length and smoother than Pine Hill. My new favorite Vermont trail system. Alpine Bike Shop on Rt. 4 in Killington - the manager was real helpful. So check out GMT before the summer ends!

My sons and I rode Green Mountain Trails on Monday, July 6th, and had a blast. We started at the Amee Farm parking lot, crossed the river on foot and headed up the Staircase to the Escalator, took a break at the Overlook, and finished the ride to the top on Luvin' It. The ride from the river to the Outlook was a series of switchbacks that stretched the lungs, legs & heart. The segment from Outlook up Lovin' It was an enjoyable ride with a gradual climb along the switchbacks to the top. Despite all the wet weather we've had, the trail was mostly dry; there were only a few spots we hopped off to avoid making ruts. Once we reached the top, we were impressed with how nice the summit cabin is and would definitely consider an overnight in the future. After a short rest, we took a trail that might have been Summit Loop around to Fusters which took us down. Great speed, good turns & a fun ride down. All in all, we spent about an hour and a half riding up and about a half hour to get back to where we started. The Green Mountain Trails system is a hidden gem that I wish I'd known about before. Now that I've been there, I'll definitely be going back, and I encourage everyone to give it a try. See you on the trails!

Pittsfield is a great place to ride if you get a chance. My favorite trail has to be either Fusters which is a long decent from the peak where there is a Cabin. My other favorite is The Shortcut which is also near the top.It has many small drops, and rock gardens, and is very steep. It is a trail off of the trail Labyrinth. This place is marked very well, and has some hard climbs, but these extensive climbs can be bypassed by taking tweed river drive at riverside farm on route 100 which is close to killington access road and you drive toward Rochester. To get a map, just go to the Pittsfield general store. Great trails if you are near killington. Also if you break a sprocket of some other bike part broke at the park, there is a bike shop down the road in Rochester. Have fun!

Rode here on a trip to Vermont this fall along with a few other networks. Great extended climbs and some fun descents. Wish we had more time to explore when there as some of the summit trails looked like great fun. Stairs to Noodle's Revenge to Luvin' It was a nicely switchbacked climb to the summit and Fuster's was a long descent back down. Read the signs at the trail head to be aware of current trail conditions. We grabbed a map at the country store and didn't look at the kiosk that stated the tweed river bridge was out and ended up fording the river which was over a foot deep in places to get to the trails after 10 minutes of searching for a way across. Our fault, not the trails!

Rode these trails finally on a recent trip to VT. They were all I've ever heard about them. This network of trails is really a model for east coast systems. The climbs were perfectly laid out and the options for type of terrain were huge though I know I only scratched the surface. Noodles was a blast both going up and down.

A real gem! Often overshadowed by nearby Killington trails, this is a cross-country rider's delight well worth the trip.

Noodles Revenge is a fun and surprisingly easy way to the top. You can also drive up Tweed River Drive and go in from there, but eventually you'll have to climb.

Nice variety of well-maintained trails, ranging from banked turns (Noodles, Luvin It) to twisty and rooty (Labyrinth).

The thousand foot climb to the top is not only forgiving, but actually fun. The summit is bald and allows for one of the most sublime views of the Green Mountains in Vermont. There are many great options down as smooth or as technical as you please.
