An excellent, if compact, Figure-8 trail just west of Stirling

With a full lap taking 35minutes for the reasonably fit and skilled it isn't somewhere to spend a weekend but it certainly has enough for a day's riding. The majority (time and vertical distance) of climbing is done on single track with three short sections of fire road. The descents are beautifully crafted and accessible to everyone from those on their first ride to the hardest of the hardcore.

With a fairly short lap this is a trail to ride several times a visit and as you're never more than a 3min ride/10min push from your car you can get away with a water bottle and basic tool/tyre kit stuffed in to your pockets. With a few sneaky short cuts looping the technical sections together and seasoning the descents is easy and straight forward.

The trails are on Forestry Land and there is ample parking at the trail head which is priced at £1 for an hour and £3 all day. While this doesn't contribute to trail maintenance costs it does cover the provision of parking and toilet facilities. The car park is locked at night, the timing varies by season but is posted on the gates at the road.
