This trail is part of the BSA scout ranch; it is only open to the public during special events. It is a mixture of fire roads and singletrack through ponderosa forests and open meadows. It is mostly non-technical, but a couple pieces of singletrack have significant exposure and tricky rock obstacles.

On the far eastern edge of Colroado's Black Forest lies a surprisingly good bit of singletrack. One would not generally think of driving East from i-25 for a good ride, but here it is. Unfortunately, it is BSA property and only open to the public during certain events. I got to do it with my son during his pre-ride before a NICA race. There are no major climbs, but plenty of rolling hills and total elevation gain will be deceivingly large. One detour route, used only in the high school Varsity race, sports a very tricky rock sequence and some spooky exposure. Besides NICA, other organizations occasionally race here. It's worth signing up if you have a chance as this is n excellent race venue.
