From the Village Store on San Vicente in the San Diego Country Estates (SDCE), head towards the firestation. Either stay next to the road, or head up on the ridge- either way, the trail will end up at the corner of Ramona Oaks and San Vicente. Just prior to reaching the firestation, there is a single track trail to the left. If you miss it, then just drop down into the field by the Firestation. Behind the station, you'll see the sign which says "Happy's Loop Trail". Follow this singletrack up the face of the hill until you get to the top. From there, you'll see Rainbird Rd. Drop down to the road, and go right. Next left, take it. Stay on the road until once again, you reach the top. You'll see a couple of entrances on the left side of the road, but take the second one. It's marked by a chain so no vehicles go down the trail. Lots of washes in the middle of the jeep trail, so be careful! Very fast downhill which if you stay to the right, you'll end up in the oak groves at the bottom. Go left once in the oaks and follow it until you reach the road. This is now Ramona Oaks and you can follow it back to the village store, or you can add to the fun of any numerous equestrian trails in that area! Suggestion is to take Watt and turn left onto the second horse trail- When you get to the fork, head UP! Quick hike to the top and it's a blast to the bottom!
Very good trail with lots of long climbs. The down is definitely worth the up!
Great trail to ride with many turns ups and fast downs with a nice foresty area to go through at the end
