US 41 and Diamond Expressway in Evansville,IN,drive west to New Harmony,IN about 25 miles, south on Highway 69 about 2 miles to park entrance
Just past walnut pond hill is steep and eroded. I felt it was best to hike the bike down to the creek. Lots of roots and mosquitoes on all the trails. Getting leaf covered so some parts are getting more difficult to discern. Like that they have weed wackers along the trail and signage at trail crossings is nice.
Thank |Fun, smooth trail with few obstacles and just a little bit of climbing. This trail provides access to the Walnut and Oka Run trails. A little more challenging than the nearby Sycamore Ridge trail, especially good for an advanced beginner. The trail ends at a small pond where it joins the other trails.
Thank |The local club Evansville Mountain Bike Assoc. continues to add trail through volunteer efforts. You can tie Sycamore and Walnut trails together for great ride. This is a hidden gem in far southwest Indiana. the trail is wellmaintained by a local woodsman who keeps fallen limbs and trees cleared off trail on regular basis. We feed him small cows and full grown goats to keep him happy.
