Mountain Biking Talbot Trails
#160 of 223 mountain bike trails in Massachusetts
Talbot Trails are a (mostly) beginner-friendly series of singletrack and doubletrack through some pleasant areas of Northboro. With only a handful of climbs and 2-3 descents, the first 1/2 of the trail is an out-and-back around a nice lake, which can be connected to more trails by riding up Lyman Street and following the fire road. From there, it's a bit more of a novice trail with fun climbs, some rooty passages, and buff track. Explore and enjoy - you're never that far away from things! Great lunchtime ride.

72 Talbot Street: From Route 9 in Northboro, turn onto Lyman Street. About 2 miles down, bear right onto Talbot Street - the trail head(s) are about 150 yards down the street on both sides of the road. High traffic lane for large trucks from FedEx, so hug the woods!
Trail is very overgrown and not maintained. Also very buggy.
Thank |There's a fun slice of flowy singletrack tucked behind the crematorium area. Who knew?
Thank |The second half of the trail, after you ride the rode to connect into the old farm, is SWARMING with deer flies right now, to the point that you need to hit pavement and outrun them. The lake side is just fine, but avoid the other half until colder weather.
Thank |Got a good tour with NEMBA - great post-work or lunch time ride. Nothing too technical (unless you want to try the skinnies here and there), and the second half (down Lyman Street) was a lot of fun.
