Mostly single track with lots of switchbacks. Fair amount of tree roots. These
sections are similar to Shaeffer Farms trails in Maryland. Other Sections of the
trails are very steep with loose gravel and rocks, mostly at entrance and exit of the
trails. These steep sections are similar to downhill areas of Frederick Watershed,
though not as rocky and not as long.

I went to a Scott bike demo day at this park in April. We rode the park the day before in the rain just to get a feel for the place. This place has much more elevation change than I am used to and a couple trails that had me feeling like I could fall off the edge of the world. The next day was clear and the trails dried up fairly quickly. The place was a little slippery in the rain but not bad. The trails were incredible as they dried up. The park is very clean and well kept. There are clean public bathrooms, plenty of parking and there was even a spigot by the dog park that you could hook a hose to and clean your bike after riding on a muddy day. We had so much fun at this place we went back the next week and rode it again.

There were a few signs at the beginning of each trail, but no tree markings in between. This gets confusing because most are woven into a frisbee golf course which can be frustrating. Trails are quite narrow and ride next to steep cliffs, however, most are lined with small logs showing off the time and detail that went into them, at least at one time. Several trees were down, blocking entire sections, forcing us to back track and choose another route. A few trees had so much overhang we could barely get our bikes through with us on them. It seems most trails funnel into a rear parking lot near a small pond. Once you go down you must do mostly steep climbs to get back up. We did find a good "loop" towards the end (Coal Cracker to Whispering Falls) with some great downhill and enjoyable climbing. Plenty of roots and a few small rock gardens as well as some stream crossings over wooden bridges. Wish there were more drop downs or even small humps to catch some air. Planning on coming back and exploring more. Holly and Outlaw look promising. Overall a good time with a rough start to the day.

Plenty to choose from. Some of this trail (maybe about 3-4 miles) is narrow, steep and with tight switchbacks that surprise you. Most of the trail is moderate and a couple miles of easy.Well built and maintained.Only drawback poor markings. Some intersections have no markings.

The trails was really nice and was not muddy. Therefore the climbing and traction was good. Nice to get back on the trails

Lots of steep down and uphill with some pretty wicked turns. Many turns can lead to long falls down very rocky hillsides. A bit more than I was ready for, but I'll be back here again to work on my skills. Still new to this sport

Good local trail. A little over 5 miles of trails I'd say. Very few rocks, many short steep climbs, fairly tight but not extremely technical. Mostly singletrack but a few wider trails and linking fire road and pipeline.

Rode this trail system for the first time on Sept 21, then came back to ride it again on Sept 22 with my friend Todd. Several trails start from behind the tennis courts. The single track through the wooded area has nice flow in some sections, tight switchbacks in other sections. No rocks on the single track, though there are a fair amount of large roots. Lots of acorns on the ground, but trails seem well maintained and groomed. Mostly packed dirt surface. These areas are similar to Shaeffer Farms in Maryland, just not as extensive a network. Some of the turns come close to steep cliff areas, so caution is advised. Not technical (other than the switchbacks) and I would say that they fall somewhere between easy and less difficult.

Outside of the single track, are sections that are extremely steep with loose gravel and some larger rocks. Very easy to skid out and flip the bike. Definitely more geared towards a full downhill bike for these sections, though most of them are only 100 to 200 meters in length. I would rate these sections as very difficult since there is no way of going slow and stopping without skidding. Overall, a fun ride with lots of different skill sets to practice. Enough level changes to get a decent pump in the legs, but by no means can it compare to the thigh burns experienced at Greenbrier and Frederick Watershed rides. No jumps that we found in the first two days of riding but we are still learning the area.
