Trail is a little over 1 mile uphill. Recommended route up to access the larger
Horseshoe canyon trail system. Makes a nice downhill with twists. Gets its
name from the deep ruts made from cows. Combine with Southbound trail or
continue on jeep track to top of Bovine for a nice loop.

Getting there
At the stoplight in Driggs head west. When the road curves south continue straight. The main road will curve north and then west again heading into Horseshoe Canyon. After you cross the forest service boundary (second cattle guard) trail head is .4 miles on the right. Parking pullout is a little farther on the left or on the right.

Channel Lock is a great lilttle 1.3 mile climb that connects you to the rest of the Horseshoe canyon trail system.

This was a SUPER fun descent, but unfortunately not a segment on Strava so I'll never know how awesome I was (pretty sure I won all time ever in my mind)

It's a very nice cross-country, natural-style trail that you'll ride as part of a loop in the Horseshoe Canyon system.

Trail provides great early season riding. Not as steep as it's neighbor Bovine. Equally as fun as a downhill. Trail is rutted some what locking you into a channel so be prepared to stay on trail.
