A mountain bike lies on its side on a dirt trail surrounded by dense green forest. The path is lined with small rocks and patches of moss, and the ground is covered with fallen leaves. Sunlight filters through the tree canopy above. Plummer

Mountain Biking Plummer's Landing/ Goat Hill

****   Add a review
#31 of 223 mountain bike trails in Massachusetts
#2,422 in the world

An old towpath (Plummer's Trail) runs along the canals, good for warm-ups or beginners. Off of this on the west is Ribbon Candy - it's tight, twisty singletrack and fun to ride with some flat, fast terrain, a few small bridges, and even a little fishbowl. No major climbs here, but a couple smaller ones scattered around. As you work your way south in the park, you'll find Goat Hill on the southeast parcel. There are some steep climbs and great techy downhill - enough to keep most NE riders on their toes. The trails seem to be under constant development, but signage is great and you'll have a ball. Goat Hill can also be accessed by E. Hartford Ave and going up "Down and Out." If you elect to cross Providence Rd (122) by the treatment plant, you can also enter Badlands. Great NE-style singletrack riding here.

Getting there
From 495, take exit 21B toward Upton. Go for a bit into the center of town and the traffic light. Straight through the light onto Maple Ave. Follow until the end and turn right onto Pleasant St. Take that a few miles until you see Church St Extension on your right. Turn onto that and the parking lot is well marked and on your left.
