Mountain Biking Manzano Open Space

**   Add a review
#138 of 283 mountain bike trails in New Mexico
#8,566 in the world

This is an undeveloped open space area criscrossed with trails, more doubletrack than singletrack. The hills aren't big, but they can be steep. There's a bunch of options, but most are doubletrack and the primary surface is deep soft gravel/sand. This is a "go out and explore" area as there is no real designated route. The area isn't that large and you can usually see some landmark, so you don't have to worry too much about getting lost.

It's a good place to play around in if you live nearby. Plenty of trail to keep yourself fit.

This is kind of a "last resort" trail in ABQ. The doubletrack isn't very interesting and the gravel will make the ride seem much more difficult than it should be. The reasons to go here are:
    1. Because you've ridden everything else in ABQ and you're dying to do something you haven't done already.
    2. It's snowed recently and the less exposed trails are still muddy. This one is all in the sun.
    3. You want to cruise through some very cool topography and seek out rock features to session.
