Good trail! Hard to locate the trailhead but once you find it, it is a pretty nice trail. Go to the left of the lake house. Several options and trails, I only took one and had a chain break so I had to bail, But I will come back for sure!

After riding a bit more ( orange, green, and blue again ) I decided to give it a four star. Needs a lil clean up but pretty good trails over all. A fun ride.

Took blue up and yellow back down. Trails were in fair shape. Some debris.

Some really great trails in here. Violet really got me and the end was fun. The Green, Red, Yellow and Blue trails were in nice shape considering it's all volunteer work. Will definitely ride these again

I am a new rider, but my experience here, as well as hearing from fellow riders, the trails aren't as maintained as they used to be? Not terrible though still good trails. can catch some good speed on red and green loops, better bring your stamina for violet, (watch out at the end) technical rock challenge.

Found this trail on my single tracks app. Great job to the Elks for keeping this trail up!! My favorite by far so far is Violet. Only thing I could say to improve on would be more direction markers, and caution signs for sketchy areas. Only wiped out one time in a blind corner due to loose sand could probably use a couple berms. Awesome trail though!!

If you love going up hill all the time and turning every 3 feet this is for you.

I would class the Elks Lodge trails as beginner/intermediate. A beginner can take these trails on, but due to the tight turns and the rollers In the violet, speed can make this trail a challenge for anyone! Worth a special trip, these trails were part of the tour de dirt in 2013 and received good reviews. Full suspension is not necessary. Single Speed is best with a 32x18 or 32x19 because of the tight corners. The trails offer good variety. If there is any negative about this series of trails, it is the number of options, bails or cuts. They confuse the flow of the system. This trail system has been strava'd, so check it out if you need further details.

I have only just begun riding. These trails are fun and some can be difficult! (Violet) it was pretty fun though! There are about 10 trails and talked to owner of land and found he is adding another one this fall...

Update: I returned to ride this trail in July, having allowed plenty of time to dry-out since the last rainfall. This trail system is fun & twisty, with little elevation change - good for beginners, and fun for all - when dry.

The trail seemed well planned and had the potential to be fun. But, because the area DID get some recent rain, the mud was intolerable. As we rode deeper into the woods, a 1 inch layer of ooey gooey mud began to stick to the tires. And, then it began to build-up on everything - the brakes/rotors, the rims & ends of the spokes, the hubs, and especially the chainstays - thicker and heavier, until the bike could barely move. WHEW! What an intolerable situation. I couldn't even finish one of the trails and was forced to push/lug my (normally featherlight) now mud-encumbered Trek back to the trailhead in defeat. Truely a bummer. I ranked it difficult b/c of the mud.

Do not ride this trail after it rains! Give it a day or two to dry out! This is a very well maintained trail, so get on out and shred it.

These trails have just finished a 6 month renovation and are dialed in perfectly right now. They are nice and tight now with lots of nice features like berms, rollers, crib walls, hips, and kickers, including some nice rocky sections and an infamous violet aka VIOLENT trail.
