The trailhead is located just north of Paynes Prairie State Park, which is located just north of Micanopy on HWY 441. If you are coming from I-75 take exit 374 and head east. Drive about two miles and you will come to HWY 441. Take a left and the trailhead is on the left about a 3 miles down the road
Not a lot of trail, but some awsome views of Paynes Prairie. I even found some buffalo on the trail! Cool, buffalo in Florida, I didn't know about this!
Thank |decent short trail... lots more hikers than bikers. never see buffalo but plenty of horses. dont startle them
Thank |this trail technically doesn't allow bikes anymore but noone seems to really mind unless your a jerk. It's fun just don't expect a lot of variety, last time I was out there there was a baby gator in the middle of the path we found him cute but he didn't like us much
Thank |This is some nice doubletrack that is mostly flat. it runs through a beautiful oak forest before going straight out into the prairie for some great views. The terrain is mostly flat with a couple of slight downhills. this track will not test your skills but it's great to get out and ride around
