Mountain Biking A.L. Burruss
#187 of 403 mountain bike trails in Georgia
The trail system is very new and fairly limited, but for a compact area it does offer a nice introduction to the varying degrees of mountain biking difficulty. This is an excellent location for beginners and children but will not satisfy the mtb enthusiast.

From downtown Atlanta take I-75 North to exit 261 (Delk Road). Go West for about a half mile and you will cross over Cobb Pkwy/Hwy 41 and the road becomes South Cobb Drive. A.L. Burruss Park is the first entrance on your right once you cross over Cobb Pkwy.

This place is a joke. Not because of the trail (which is only about 2.5 miles of beginner trail) but because of the shady people that hang out in and around the parking lot. DO NOT take children here. I once saw a man there who seemed to have lost his pants but luckily there were some other gentlemen helping him find them. Trust me and stay away.
Thank |This was the first trail I rode when getting into MTB but I quickly became aware that this was a "cruising" spot for men. It is fun to ride and not very crowded except for the suspicious looking pairs of men you randomly find in the woods. It is a good place to start out.
Thank |Rode for the first time today After being Sick all week long with a bad cold. Took a friend of mine for a first time MTB for the first time. and this was perfect location to take a rookie. Trails it self were wide and little climbing that made it fun for y friend. A bit short but when you conect it with the trail that takes you to life university and conecting with trails that take you to wildwood park by stainbg in trails witch made it fun. The Parking at Burruss was wierd with the cars park backward waiting around felt a Strange.
Thank |Next time I will park at Wildwood park and ride this trails when you connect this two parks it could be fun and get a good work out since I leave a few miles away from here.
Local law enforcement call this the "pickle park." Why? Because men meet here to meet other men for sex on the trails. Don't ride here. Its better than its been in previous years, but it still has that reputation.
Thank |okay trail
Thank |Just rode this. I was there only 15 minutes and rode every trail. The trails are nice but not much fun. I may go back but just to take my girlfriend to walk.
Thank |Indeed good riding for little kids. Easy flat trails with minimal elevation gain.
The report of 3-5 cars with single men parked in the lot was true today (Jan 20 2014). They didn't bother us and didn't seem to be joining each other in each other's cars...maybe they were just waiting for us to leave. Did seem a bit creepy.
Thank |Too easy. The only difficulty is some tree roots and a little bit of incline.
I won't be back, but it's not because of the level of difficulty. It's because I've been there twice and both times the parking lot had 3 - 5 cars parked backwards with single creepy looking guys just sitting there waiting for male prostitutes or crack dealers.
Thank |Pretty fun alot of gravel. You can connect with the trail that goes through life university and that connects with a trail system in a neighboring park which u can create many different loops. To connect with life univesity ride behind the volly ball and tennis courts ether go up the hill and through the gate(sometimes locked but the gate through the trackstadium is always open). or cross behind the courts take a right turn at the parking lot and look left their should be a trail in that direction that will take you through life University. The other park located of of south Cobb and Barclay cir which has a dog park in front has many loops and cut to have fun with. Fun down hills just a pretty alright trail
Thank |Single/doubletrack trails that snake through the woods near the Lockhead airforce base for about 2 miles of riding. The last time I went, the trails were closed for the winter freeze/thaw but they should be opening up pretty soon once things warm up. Not much in the way of a challenge here but a decent spot to take a beginner and get their feet wet; especially if they live in the neighborhood.
Thank |
