Mountain Biking Lick Fork Lake
#85 of 115 mountain bike trails in South Carolina
This 2 mile singletrack loop encircles the lake offering some interesting scenery differing from the norm in Sumter National Forest. This connects to the main Horn Creek loop which is ridden much more frequently.

"From Augusta, take 1-20 east towards S. Carolina. Take exit 1 and bear left. Continue on this road for approximately 10 miles. Lick Fork entrance is on the right. Continue on park road until it appears to end. Turn right. Continue down to the lake and park on the far side. Trail goes up, starting at the lake spillway.
I wanted to submit a GPS track for this trail, but it was not possible. There are A LOT of trees down, the bridges are in need or repair, and the trail is over grown. About half a mile into the trail, I completely lost site of the trail. I turned around and mostly had to hike a bike out due to the bad conditions. If you ride at Lick Fork/Horn Creek stay off this loop until work is done. SORBA-CSRA members cleared the main trail last weekend and it is in fantastic condition.
Thank |Unless it's been cleaned up some since I rode it, this trail isn't worth the effort.
