From the MacDonald's/ Huddle House traffic light in downtown Hiawasse (US 64 west), head out of town towards Hayesville. Turn left when you see the sign for Jack Rabbit Campground( US Forest Service), over the border into NC. As you come to a bend and can see the lake, the trailhead is on the left BEFORE THE CURVE with a sign" Jack Rabbit Mountain Bike and Hiking trails". It's in a grassy field. I drove past, but saw the sign as I passed it the first time.
A fun section of the Jack Rabbit Trails. Stop and enjoy the beach!
Thank |Sweet little section of trail with great flow and some awesome views of the lake.
Thank |At 0.5 miles, this is another one of those "trails" that is actually more like a "section" of a trail. It branches off from the Burrel Cove trail and shoots out to a beach area on the lake that is a cool, sandy place to down some water and enjoy a break. Almost nothing but smooth hardpack singletrack surface so put it on autopilot and pedal away. I gave it a 2 since it's so short but honestly it's exactly like the rest of the trails at Jack Rabbit so don't be too discouraged.
