Mountain Biking South Run Valley Stream
#119 of 300 mountain bike trails in Virginia
This singletrack is one I found while trying to find a single track in this area.
It is a network of small trails that are fun if you live in the area and have some free time. they are non technical but there are a few logs and some streem crossings that will keep you on your toes. keep your eye on the trail becuse ther are parts where you will hve to pick up your bike up and walk on a 5ft plank. all in all a good small singletrack that is nice to give a try.

Go down hoes road to you get to the lake mercer parking lot. cross the road to the paved trail. ride this trail to you see the part of the creek where there is a fence along it. a dirt path will be there. follow this track and you may choose between different routes.
From Newington to Lake Mercer to Burke Lake and back. All dry. Went off main tail at Burke Lake to explore the MTB trails. They were decent but too many downed trees. You need to be a very skilled log jumper to maximize it's potential.
