#37 of 169 mountain bike trails in Missouri
#3,034 in the world

The trail is mostly singletrack with a short stint on the road and crosses over several other roads. There is plenty of shoulder so you won't just pop out onto the road. At about the .7 mile point you will cross a small creek and the trail will T, take the left. At mile 2 you will cross a road and the trail will once again split. Go left here for the entire trail or straight to make a 4.5 mile loop. At 4.2 miles the trail will split again, go right downhill. At mile 5.2 the trail will come to a house being built get onto the road (Lakewood) and follow it to Bittersweet Rd, take right onto Bittersweet Rd. for about 200 meters. At this point you should see where you crossed Bittersweet at the 2 mile point. Take a left onto the trail and instead of going left at the split, go straight. Eventually you'll come back to Bittersweet Rd. Take a left and ride up to Carl's and back to your vehicle. There are several man made obstacles (jumps) to play around on if you follow these directions. Make sure you bring a spare tube if you are running tubes or a patch kit to fix any flats. There are several sharp rocks.

Getting there
From Osage Beach, MO drive North on Hwy 54 to Bagnell Dam Blvd. Take left onto Bagnell Dam and drive about 2 miles to Horseshoe Bend Pkwy. Take left on Horseshoe and drive 4.5 miles you will pass Bittersweet Rd and see Carl's Market on your right. Park at Carl's Market. Once you are on your bike continue down Horseshoe Bend for about 200 meters. You see a Fire Department on right, take a right before you get to the Fire Department. There is a field behind it and trail starts there. You'll have to look for it but once you see it the trail is easy to follow.

My only issue with this Trail is that the trail head was very hard to find. Once I did find the trailhead it was a lot of fun. Definitely some climbing some switchbacks some technical features. The built technical features are a bit old and I didn't trust many of them. The trail does cross many roads. I was actually very impressed at how much Trail they were able to put in such a built-up area. It has a pretty good length. Overall an enjoyable yet technical Trail

This could be a nice trail, the lack of maintenance is showing, I made it through the entire trail but found it sketchy at times. Has great potential to be a fantastic trail, just seems a bit under used. Could use some better markings. Hate to be a downer so I'll leave it with , I got to ride my bike which was awesome!!

Trail was in ok shape but def seems like something that your kids built long ago as it traverses over several roads and backyards haha. I almost got through a whole loop after finding a map on Strava but still ended up bailing to the main road toward the end as it's a very confusing trail with no signage whatsoever. I recommend hitting Honey Run instead as those were way better and well maintained by the state park.

Rode this today, not bad for the middle of Missouri. A little tricky picking up the trail in some spots, just trust your instinct. Too bad the local bike shop doesn't do more to keep the trail maintained. Lots of bike tubes water bottles and other trash. The guy at Oz is a real ass, so bring everything you need. Trail starts directly behind the fire station on the corner of HH and Yonkers. Look for s small cedar tree, trail is to the left of it.

This is a good mix of technical, climbs and flat. Definitely not for the inexperienced mountain biker though. Get a GOOD map before going out your first time. Picking up the trail after crossing the roads is a bit of a challenge and riding the trail in the correct direction is crucial.

Good trail to ride. I haven't been on it for several years. Fortunately someone has blown the leaves off so it was easy to follow. Not sure if we wouldn't have been lost otherwise. It was kind of wierd riding through some people's back yards and some of the man made features need repair, but in general it provided a fun experience. Very rocky but interesting terrain.

Tried to find this trail today with mixed results. There is a power station behind the firehouse with a very short section of very overgrown trail, but I couldn't find where it continued.

Funest ride yet. I am somewhat of a beginner and this trail was a blast. Hard to find and hard to follow at points but managed to find my way through the whole trail. No huge climbs so it was perfect for me. Some signage at trailheads would be nice but will for sure come back to this trail next time I am in the Ozarks. Don't forget to stop by Oz Cycles.. They helped me out a lot and got me on my way....* Review edited 4/18/2011

This is a wicked trail! LOTS OF ROCKS, ROOTS, AND MAN MADE SURPRISES! I went on a day with a steady drizzle and this trail does not get wet. Stop by the local bike shop on the strip, Oz Bikes, and they will clue you in on all the details.

lots of natural and man made obstacles. Tons of sharp rocks. First time out here I was on trail about 10 seconds and had a flat. Only flat I've had on this trail though. Make sure you stop by Oz Cycles on Bagnell Dam before you go if you don't know the trail. They have trail maps and will explain directions also. Tons of fun on this trail.
