This is some of the better technical singletrack in the Landstuhl area. After starting out on the trail, make sure to stay the right. You will ride over a small creek bridge. There is a series of stepped rocks to climb over; this lets you know you are heading in the right direction. When you approach a fork in the trail, take the left for a rollercoaster section of singletrack which will lead you to a rock outcropping. Continue along until you drop off a set of steps and cross over a doubletrack road. Drop off the road and continue onto singletrack which will again spit you out onto an old dirt road. Follow the road uphill until you come to a gate which you can get around. This will lead you to paved road which is referred to as "cardiac hill". Climb cardiac hill until you reach the barricades set up by the hospital. You will see a gravel road to your right. Take that gravel road until it ends in a circle like turnaround. Follow the trail up to the tower and on the side facing the valley, you will find a set of steps. The trail continues at this point downhill. Stay to the left on this trail and it will take you back to the parking lot and trailhead. There are a multitude of side trails to explore, all with fun sections and moderate climbs. I marked the trailhead on google earth. Just look up Landstuhl Germany and look for the hospital. It's a large white building with a long spine section with many ribs on either side.
Techie trail, with lots of interesting things to see. Extremely pretty scenery. Was nice to get out and finally ride this one.
Thank |This definitely isn't an intermediate trail. There are tons of rocks and big hills. It's a great ride and an awesome trail but not for beginners. I'd call it an advanced for sure. If you're not careful you'll end up in downtown Landstuhl- it's a long ride back up to the trailhead! There are some good single track down hill parts, but its mostly uphill.
Thank |This is my first time riding this trail with no snow on the ground. It is great. This trail is way under rated. The more I ride this trail the better it gets.
Thank |Don't let my 3 star rating keep you from riding this trail. It could easily be 4 or 5 if it were longer. There are many trails that run off this loop, but I didn't include them due to wanting to post a loop. Feel free to explore. I tried to post more pics, but for some reason, they won't upload. I will take more and see if I can get them to upload.* Review edited 6/15/2009
