the trail runs along side the wolf river and has three main branches (Yellow, Blue, and White) the yellow
trail is the best for mountain biking it has a great flow its very fast. It has a few descents and a few climbs
nothing to challenging but plenty of switchbacks most mountain bikers will be able to keep decent speed
10mph plus on average...The the blue trail holds tons of water and it needs to be dry for most riders to
enjoy it. (SideNote) The trail on the other side of the overpass as mentioned above is awesome.. just make
sure to stay to the left (towards the river) it has a great flow and has less mud but if you go left the trail is
much much more challenging with a couple of obstacles and a very steep descent to a 90degree turn onto
a narrow bridge which crosses a finger of the river...definitely try these trails they are the best "inside the
city"
Fun trail system for the beginner to intermediate rider, not too technical but has a few climbs and descents. Tight in areas but mostly open with great views you wouldn't expect from the area.
Thank |It is an alright trail, very little elevation change. Poor marking across the trails. But if you stay in the middle trail after the bridge then it is a nice flowly trail. Not very challenging for a experienced rider, but nice to go through with pace.
Thank |Great place to ride, you can ride as fast as you want. has some drops on some of the trails. needs to be marked a little better, i could see someone getting turned around here easily with all the off shoots of trails, the trail closest to the river does have sections of sand( one is deep in sand) but nothing to hard and where there is sand its not in very long sections. Very close to the Tour De Wolf trails there are several points to access the trails so start where ya want. we ride from right at the walnut groove bridge parking( right by the BMX track at Shelby Farms)
Thank |The river flooded last weekend, so try to avoid this trail for awhile. It's going to take some time to dry out and get the mess cleaned up. Preserve the trail by not riding it wet!! Herb Parsons is perfect!
Thank |Try and stay away from the river, there is sand along those trails which Boggs you down. The white trail has some sweet drop in places if u know where to go. All in all in fast and fun.
Thank |The trail is really great! A big storm had just came through the night before so it was SUPER muddy, but it made it more of a challenge which is always fun. The real difficulty comes in how fast you want to go. The faster, the harder. Also, the closer you get to the river the more sand there is - so stay away! Overall, this trail is really fun. (I took the Germantown Pkwy entrance) WATCH OUT FOR HORSE POOP.
Thank |First time riding Wolf today its was great just at times feels like i might b going in the wrong way on the trail but i figured out my way around but very nice mostly dry
Thank |Overall a fun set of trails to ride on my visit to MEM, no real climbs or technical stuff, but LOTS of water and mud on these trails... expect to get muddy. Trails and bridges are wide. I was surprised to see some sand. I tried to ride all three main trails, but may have missed some as parts are poorly marked. I plan to ride again on my next visit.
Thank |This is an entire loop on the Wolf River trail system beginning at the Walnut grove
Thank |bridge, extending to the Germantown parking lot, and back. The recommended
path is to follow the yellow trail out and the white, transferring to the blue, trail
back.
The trail's condition varies depending on horseback riders coming through after a rain and messing up the trail. When it is in good condition it is much better than tour de wolf but if your willing to drive herb parsons and stanky creek are much better
Thank |The trail is overall in pretty good shape. There is a couple wet spots but drying pretty quick with the recent weather. Real fun, tight singletrack,multi-use so watch for hikers-I think a bell is always a great idea for all "multi" trails. Visibility can be an issue in this summer season with the growth of all the riverside vegetation.* Review edited 5/30/2009
Thank |The trail is a smooth flowing single track which runs along the wolf river. There are some very high bridges which go over water areas and it gets very sandy in some sections. There are also some "skinnies" to play on for those willing. Overall its a lot of fun and most sections can be ridden by the average mountain biker. Definitely try these trails if your in the area
