Take Carefree Hwy. east to 32nd St., head north to Cave Creek Regional Park. Pay $6 grab a map and go explore.
Staying at the Cave Creek Regional Campground. Took a quick trail ride with my daughter up to the Overton Loop. Trail was smooth and clear. Parts with steep climbs, but most was gradual changes in elevation and no obstacles. Riding back down was a thrill. ????
Thank |Rode the Jo John trail today. Entire loop. Tough little guy. I am a casual biker - don't be afraid to walk in parts.
I started on the north side and made my way around for about 2.5 hours. Lots of fun tough parts. The end ride down was worth all the pain on the back side.
Thank |Wow. What a 24mi loop! Incredible diversity of Trails in one ride. And the scenery of course... Enjoy!
Thank |Great trails. Go John, Slate, Quartz and Overton are lots of fun. Easy to make loops of various lengths. One tougher section on backside of Go John that can be left out of any loop if you want to circumvent. New trail now connects to Military and on over to Sonoran Preserve for longer rides. Beautiful scenery, especially at sunset. Watch for horses and hikers.
Thank |A solid 3. Some challenges but mostly intermediate level. Some sketch at the back end of Big John and loose stones. After that its gets pretty fun. A good cardio workout if trying to get back in shape.
Thank |Some nice trails, not technically difficult. The bike shop in town is very helpful, and will give you a map to ink up a longer, 25 m or so ride that they mapped out for their bike race- definitely worth doing, great scenery and some excellent, flowy single track.
Thank |It's a good trail, not the greatest, but has some nice mountainous scenery around. Quite easy, and makes a small workout. One trail has a very nice downhill ride along the edge of one of the mountains. (After climbing up the steep side) Do beware of hikers coming in opposite directions, horses, and lots of horse dung.
Thank |Pretty good singletrack loops in Northern Phoenix. When you get on the north side of the park, you would never know you are on the outskirts of one of the largest cities in the country.* Review edited 8/5/2009
