Mountain Biking Holy Jim Trail

Lots of climbing and switchbacks. About half of the trail is in the shade, and half in the sun. There are also a good amount of hikers on this trail. A little ways into the ride you should come to a sign that says Main Divide Road and Falls, you can take either one, but I would recomend taking Main Divide. You can take this trail all the way to Santiago Peak where you can see nearly all of Orange County and Lake Elsinore. You can also hook up with other trails from the peak like Cold Water, Main Divide, Modjeska, Horsethief and Indian Truck Trail.

From Orange take Chapman east. It becomes Santiago when you pass Jamboree. Continue east until you reach Cooks Corner and turn left. Continue past O'neill Park until you reach Rose Canyon. You will cross over Trabuco Creek Bed and there will be a dirt parking area on the left. There is a dirt road there that leads into the canyon called Trabuco Creek Road. You can park there or drive up the dirt road and park closer to the trail if you have an Adventure Pass. When you get to the Trabuco Canyon Fire Station there will be a bridge and a Y. The right leads to West Horsethief Trail, the left will take you through a residential type area and Holy Jim. The trailhead is at the end of the road and is clearly marked.
Rode this trail yesterday, it should be labeled as closed. No trail maintenance has been done in years and the fires and storms have made it unrideable.
| ThankThis is a great trail - one of my favorites in OC! It has it all - switchbacks, loose scrabble, vegetation tunnels, wooded shade, mine tailings... fast and challenging. Only drawback are the hiking crowd on the way up.

| ThankMy favorite trail in OC. A beautiful climb that starts in trees and ascends through many switchbacks. Alternating between amazing canopies and open sun areas, this climb is breathtaking in more than one way. Follow it up with Joplin, one of the best downhills in OC!
| ThankThis is a great trail although since they fixed the road it gets pretty crowded with hikers on the weekends. Upper HJ is definitely more technical while Lower HJ is a blast. LHJ is probably the easiest way to get to Main Divide on the south side of the peak and the Holy Jim Trabuco Loop is one of the best in the Santa Anas.
| ThankThis is one great single track - one of the best in the OC! From the parking lot it starts steep immediately with a bunch of switchbacks then flows through tunnels of vegitation and then gets a bit rocky and technically toward the top in places. Go up and back for an absolute ripfest or make a loop with Main Divide then down either West Horsethief or Trabuco. This is one of the best in the Santa Anas no doubt!
